Mark 15:2,3

Mark 15:2,3 And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto him, Thou sayest it. And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing. Whatever Jesus would say, it would not get him off. Pilate asked Jesus a leading question. So Jesus put the pressure on Pilate. Jesus said, “You said it; I didn’t.” But when the chief priests all spoke at once insisting that Jesus was guilty, Jesus said nothing. His argument of silence was powerful. That is because Pilate knew that the chief priests didn’t have much of an argument. Pilate just had to find Jesus guilty because Jesus just had to die for our sins. But that fact didn’t excuse Pilate – Pilate wasn’t off of the hook. When Pilate condemned Jesus to death, he was condemning the very Son of God to death. Wow! What a terrible mistake. But it was a wonderful mistake for us, because that day, Jesus paid for our redemption and bought our salvation with His own blood. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!
