Ecclesiastes 5:2 Be
not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing
before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be
few. There are many things that happen to us. We don’t know why things
happen nor do we know what the future holds for us. But God does! He knows what
is best for us and why things happen as they do. God allows bad things to
happen to us to teach us and to make us tougher to stand up when more hard
things come along. He wants to build us up like a good basketball coach. The
coach makes his players run and do exercise to make them better players. He is
not being mean to them; he is thinking of the game next week. A good coach
wants to prepare his players. And just like a good coach, God knows what is
ahead. God wants us to be ready for hard times. God knows the future and God is
preparing us for the future. Our job is to trust and to follow our loving God.
