I heard a comment by a dear pastor last night. Brother Bud M. was quoted as he preached on Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” He said, “The wage of death in this verse is a minimum wage.” And I agree. Sin also comes with grief and sorrow and regret and pain and broken relationships. You see, death is only the beginning of sin’s wages; death is the minimum wage. BUT finish the verse! We earn death, but the dear Lord gives us a gift of eternal life instead! We deserve death but God gives us life. And this life is in Jesus Christ! Hey, are you still working for your “minimum wage”? Are you toiling for Satan every day? Why not quit that job and accept God’s free gift of eternal life? You can live like a king because you will be born again into the forever family of the King of the Universe! A much better arrangement!
