Veterans Day

I never served in the military, but I came awfully close to.  Because I had to work while in college, I fell below full-time status and was classified 1-A.  The first lottery draft was held in December 1969.  My lottery number was 215 out of 365 and my county got up to 205 in that year.  After 1970, I was safe.  I often wonder what my life would have been had I served in the military.  I had many college friends come home with school tuition paid by the GI bill.  But many did not come home.  I remember stories told to me by my Uncle Bill Wagner, Uncle Bill McNish, and Uncle Gray Whitely, all in WWII.  My Uncle Dean Whitely served in the Air National Guard, and still lives in Joppa, Md.  As they say, ”We live in the land of the free because of the brave.”  Thank you for service, Uncle Dean.

The Real Problem

Racism, sexual perversion, greed, hatred, rape, adultery, anger, violence, poverty, gangs, corruption, pedophilia, alcoholism, pornography, drug abuse, fornication, and abortion are evil, but not the real problems.  The real disease is sin and the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only solution.

Words Women Use

Words Women Use:
1. Fine - This is the word that women use to end an argument when they are right, and you need to shut up.
2. Five Minutes - If she is getting dressed, this means a half hour.  Five minutes really means five minutes if you have been given five minutes to watch the game before you have to help around the house.
3. Nothing - This is the calm before the storm.  This means “something” and you’d better be on your toes.  Arguments that begin with “Nothing” usually end with “Fine”.
4. Go Ahead - This is a dare, not permission.  Don’t do it.
5. Loud Sigh - This is not really a word but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men.  A “Loud Sigh” means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time arguing with you over “Nothing”.
6. That’s Okay - This is one of the most dangerous statements that a woman can make to a man.  “That’s Okay” means that she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
7. Thanks - A woman is thanking you.  Maybe.  Don’t question it or faint.  Just say you’re welcome.
