Luke 2:8-11

Luke 2:8-11 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. On the night Jesus was born, the town of Bethlehem was bursting with activity. So many visitors crowding into such a small place! No one noticed the little couple staying in the stable. No one even noticed the baby born that was born that night. So God had to send a birth announcement to shepherds sleeping in the nearby hills. Usually, the shepherds were the last to get any news from town. But on that blessed night, they were the first to hear! And they left their sheep to find the new-born Savior. I am sure Mary and Joseph were proud to show off their new little baby boy! And the shepherds were proud to be the first to welcome the new-born Messiah to their town. Welcome, baby Jesus! Welcome to our world!
