Amos 3:7 Surely the
Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the
prophets. God loves Israel and God loves his children, the New Testament
church. He doesn’t keep us in the dark, He keeps us informed through His Word
given to us by His writers. Hey! You’re reading from one of them right now!
Amos was one of the Old Testament prophets sent to proclaim God’s words.
Usually, the prophets are given a message of warning. Often they are given a
word of prophecy, telling of future events. The Bible is the only Holy book in
the world that contains prophecy. All of the religions of the world rely on
their holy books, but only the Bible proves it is the Word of God by containing
prophecy, telling of future events. The Bible proves it is true because its
words of prophecy have come to pass! Well, there are some words of prophecy
that are about events that are still in the future – but make no mistake, they
will happen just as God said through His prophets. Just like you tell
everything to your close friends, God reveals everything to His close friends. I’m
glad that I am a close friend of God, aren’t you?!
This is a blog that I have created for my 5 grandchildren. I have a daily Scripture verse or two along with comments and questions. Hope this encourages young people to read in their Bible every day and to meditate on God's Word.

Amos 3:3
Amos 3:3 Can two
walk together, except they be agreed? In order for two different people to
walk along the same path, they must be in agreement. What if one decides to
turn left? Unless the other turns left too, they will separate ways. What if
one walks faster? He will get further and further ahead of his wife. I say he
and wife
because that’s what happens to me and my wife – she has short legs and I have
long legs. To walk together, I must agree to slow down or she must agree to
speed up. If one stops to look at something in the store window, the other must
stop too. To walk together, one must give in to the other. It could be either one
or the other. It could be one at one time and the other the next time – but
they must be in agreement in order to walk together. So what does this verse
really mean? Be careful who you hang around with. You must be in agreement to
hang with them. So about your friends. Are they in agreement with you, or are
you in agreement with them? Are they helping you or are they pulling you down? Who
you pick to be your friends is important. For soon, you will be like them. Be
careful.

Joel 3:14-16
Joel 3:14-16
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is
near in the valley of decision. The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the
stars shall withdraw their shining. The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and
utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but
the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of
Israel. Joel talks about the Day of the Lord as a terrible time of judgement.
Joel is speaking about the end times. The second coming of Jesus Christ to
earth will be in two parts. The first part is called The Rapture. Jesus Christ
will come in the clouds and call up all His saints who have died. They will be
reunited with their spirits and come up t meet Him. Those Christians who are
alive will be changed instantaneously into their glorified bodies and rise up
to meet Jesus Christ too. All the saved of all time will go up with their Lord
to be with Him in heaven. This will begin the seven year Tribulation period
spoken of in the book of Revelation. There will be 144,000 Jewish evangelists
who go out preaching God’s Word. This is the time described in our verses for
today. The multitudes must decide to follow the Anti-Christ and take his mark
or to follow King Jesus and be persecuted. What a heart-wrenching decision!
After terrible judgements and brutal times, Jesus Christ will return to Jerusalem
and defeat the armies of the Anti-Christ at the battle of Armageddon in the
Valley of Jezreel in Israel. Then Jesus will set up His Millennial Kingdom for
one thousand years. We will be with Jesus all this time, but He will be doing
all of the work. We will be with Him enjoying His divine presence. I pray that
people will decide for Christ before those terrible days so that
they will not have to go through those days. How much better to be in heaven
with Jesus than making difficult decisions on earth.
