Jude 1&2 Jude,
the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified
by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called: Mercy unto you,
and peace, and love, be multiplied. These are verses one and two of the
book of Jude. No, I didn’t forget the chapter because Jude only has one
chapter. Our verses begin with Jude identifying himself as the servant of Jesus
Christ and the brother of James. But James was the brother of Jesus! Jude
evidently didn’t want to brag that he was the brother of Jesus Christ, so he
called himself only a servant. The brothers of Jesus did not believe that He
was the messiah until after His death and resurrection. They then believed that
Jesus was not only their brother, but actually a half-brother Who was actually
the Son of God. The death and resurrection made believers of James and Jude,
and the resurrection made believers of me and you! We became believers just
like everyone else did: by faith in the sacrificial death and resurrection of
Jesus Christ! Jesus saved Jude and James, and Jesus saved us too!
