Habakkuk 3:2 O
LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the
midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember
mercy. Sometimes we look around at other people and think that we are
pretty good. “We aren’t as bad as they are,” we tell ourselves. But when we
look into the Word of God, we see that we are wicked and evil. We realize that
we are selfish and greedy and sinful. As we see a holy God, we appear worse and
worse. But God doesn’t show us our sin to make us feel bad. God shows us our
sin so that we can make a change in our lives. God loves us and wants to have
fellowship with us. God wants to save sinners. And as Christians, God wants to
bring us back into fellowship with Him. He wants to revive our hearts. So we
should pray, “Dear Lord, forgive us. Don’t remember our sins, remember your
forgiveness.” God will forgive and God will revive our hearts. He is faithful
and He is merciful.
