I was preparing a Sunday school lesson on “5 Amazing Mothers in the Bible”. And I thought, how intense Jochebed’s teaching was to her little son, Moses! She knew that she would lose him when he was 5 years old, and he would go to live in a pagan home in a pagan culture. I’m sure that she did everything in her power to put Scripture into his little head. She would secretly wipe away tears as she thought of losing him, and then go right on to tell her son of the One True God in heaven who would always be there watching over him. And then I thought, “Are we as fervent as we teach our children about God? We won’t have our children forever. Sweet little children grow up, go away to college, move away from home, and get married. We only have them for a few short years, just a brief time to connect them to their heavenly Father, Who is always watching over them. Hey, let’s do a good job. Let’s teach them, and teach them well.
