John 16:7,8
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for
if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will
send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and
of righteousness, and of judgment: Jesus died on the cross to pay for our
sins. He died in our place as our substitute. But He promised that He would
never leave us nor forsake us. How is this possible! In our verse for today He
promised that He would send the Holy Spirit to us when He left. Jesus and The
Father and the Holy Spirit are the same! The Holy Spirit indwells Christians
and Jesus and the Father are in us because the Holy Spirit is in us. The Holy
Spirit has a big job to do. He has to convict people that they need to be
saved. And our job is to tell them about salvation. What a wonderful privilege
it is to work with God! We can rejoice when someone is saved. We may tell them,
but the Holy Spirit has to do the work in their heart.
