John 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them
also which shall believe on me through their word; The night before Jesus
was crucified, He went to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray. He took His
disciples with Him and asked them to stay awake and pray with Him. But they
were tired and sleepy and couldn’t stay awake and pray. While Jesus was
praying, He prayed for His disciples because He knew that soon He would be
leaving this world and going back to His Father in heaven. But here in our
verse for today, He not only prayed for His disciples, but He prayed for those
who would believe on Him some day. And that is us! Here in John 17:20 Jesus was
praying for us! What a wonderful thing to remember! Jesus loves us and has
already prayed for us. The least that we should do in return is to pray to Him.
Don’t you think so?
