John 20:1&2 The
first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto
the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. Then she
runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus
loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre,
and we know not where they have laid him. Jesus was in the grave before 6pm
on Friday and here the ladies were coming to the tomb early Easter Sunday
morning. Any part of the day would have counted, which makes Friday, Saturday,
and Sunday: three days! But when the women came to put more burial spices on
Jesus’ body, it was not there! They ran back to Peter and John in alarm telling
them that Jesus was not there in the grave. They all assumed that someone had
stolen the body away. Jesus had told them of His resurrection, but they just
couldn’t believe that someone could come alive again. But he did! He arose just
like He said that He would! And the disciples’ excitement was just beginning!
