James 2:8,9 If ye
fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour
as thyself, ye do well: But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and
are convinced of the law as transgressors. Sometimes this is called the
Golden Rule, but here James calls it the Royal Law. James calls it the Royal
Law because it comes from King Jesus. And He is the King of kings and Lord of
lords! So when the King looks over His subjects, do you think that He likes to
see them getting along with each other? I do. We are all subjects of King
Jesus. Rich or poor; smart or simple; beautiful or plain; handsome or ugly;
ripped or wimpy; clever or boring; energetic or laid back. Jesus loves us all
and we are all important to His plan for us all. When we are critical of
others, we are critical of their Maker, because God made us as we are. So, love
everyone and enjoy their individuality.
This is a blog that I have created for my 5 grandchildren. I have a daily Scripture verse or two along with comments and questions. Hope this encourages young people to read in their Bible every day and to meditate on God's Word.

James 1:22-25
James 1:22-25 But
be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For
if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding
his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and
straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the
perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful
hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. It
isn’t enough to hear the Word of God; we must be doers of the Word of God. If
you just hear only, James says that you are like someone looking in a mirror.
Suppose you see your hair messed up. If you don’t comb your hair, what was the
use of looking in the mirror? If we don’t do something about our sins, what use
is it to read the Bible?! We should do something about our sin! Be a
doer of God’s Word!

James 1:12
James 1:12 Blessed
is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the
crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. God has
promised to be with us in every temptation that we have. And if we go through
the temptation, God is proud of us. He will even give us a reward when we get
to heaven. God will reward us with a crown if we have resisted temptation. What
a great thing!
