Trees and People

Monday Kathy and I went to Ellijay, Georgia - me to buy some rough-cut wood and her to buy some Honeycrisp apples.  We came back over Fort Mountain and saw the beautiful trees, some which were just beginning to change to their fall colors.  It’s interesting how that the Sumac trees are the first to change into blazing reds.  Then the locust trees turn yellow, if not a dry brown from lack of rain.  Then the maples turn yellow and orange and red, depending on which species they are.  Oak turns a deep red and beech trees turn a mellow yellow.  Hickorys turn a beautiful hue of yellow along with the sugar maples (but most of them are up north).  God has made each of the trees to play a different part in His orchestra of colors in the fall.  Hey, God has made each of us to play an important part in His orchestra of people.  I’m not talking about “Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight,” I am talking about induvial differences in personalities.  You may be a morning person or a late worker.  You may be a talker or a quiet listener.  Perhaps you are a take-charge person, or you may be a quiet follower.  Whatever your disposition, serve the Lord with gladness and purposeness.  In the parable of the talents, Jesus said in “Matthew 25:21, “… Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”  However the good Lord has designed you to be, do your best for Him!  Serve your Maker, and you’ll be glad that you did!
