I Thessalonians
5:16 Rejoice evermore. Wow! This little verse is only two words, but it
packs a big punch! OK, for you English students: “rejoice” is the verb and
“evermore” is an adverb, but where is the subject? Answer: The subject is “you
understood”. So who should rejoice all of the time? YOU should rejoice
evermore! And that is a command from God. So, can we rejoice when bad things
happen too? Well yes. That’s because we need to remember that God will use even
bad things in our lives to do something good. With God, even bad things will
turn out good. So, we can rejoice when good things happen to us and we can
rejoice when bad things happen to us, because the bad things will ultimately be
turned around by God into good things. Ain’t God good?!
