I Samuel 19:9,10
And the evil spirit from the LORD was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with
his javelin in his hand: and David played with his hand. And Saul sought to
smite David even to the wall with the javelin; but he slipped away out of
Saul's presence, and he smote the javelin into the wall: and David fled, and
escaped that night. Saul’s anger grew and grew until it consumed him. And
finally, one day as David played the harp to calm Saul’s spirit, King Saul
picked up a spear and threw it at David. If David hadn’t been watching
carefully, Saul would’ve killed him! But God was with David and David kept up
his guard. As David slipped out of the palace, Saul stormed away in rage. What
a contrast in attitudes! David - careful
in what he said and did, and Saul - giving in to his wicked feelings. A good
lesson for us!
