Our Final Destination

In 1992, we took a group of Americans with us to Romania to distribute 137,000 John and Romans Scripture portions that I had shipped over a few months earlier.  While there, we were all invited to attend a wedding in Lugoj.  Since Kathy and I had a nice rental car, we were asked to drive the bride and groom to the wedding.  After the church wedding, we went to a hotel for the reception.  Since the bride and groom rode with me and my wife, two of our college girls had to ride with the Romanian guests on a chartered city bus.  The girls spoke no Romanian, and the others on the bus spoke no English.  After the bus driver dropped off the other guests at their various homes, he went back into service on his city bus route … with our girls in the back of the bus!  After some fruitless discussions and a lot of sign language, the driver finally understood, and dropped off the girls at the hotel reception.  Hey, the girls had no idea where they were going.  They only knew it was the wedding reception.  They didn’t know where or when to get off the bus; they only vaguely knew their destination.  King David said in Psalm 20:7, “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.”  Hey, God doesn’t leave us alone in our journey through life.  He knows exactly where heaven is, when we are to arrive in heaven, and how to get us there safely.  We don’t have to worry - God has everything under control.  He will take us all the way to our eternal home, safe and sound.
