II Kings 7:3

II Kings 7:3 And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die? Benhadad sent his troops to Israel and surrounded the capital, Samaria. The city walls were secure, so he laid siege to the city. The Syrian army had the Israelite crops and cattle to live on, so they patiently waited for the king of Israel to starve and surrender. Inside they were starving, but outside, there was plenty of food. Four leprous men were hanging around the outside of the city gate. The Syrian soldiers didn’t dare touch them or they might catch leprosy. But the Israelites wouldn’t let them into the city or they would catch leprosy. The four poor lepers were stuck in between. Finally, the lepers said one to another, “Why are we just sitting here? We are starving and are going to die. Let’s just go to the Syrians and they might be nice to us and give us a little bread and water. Hey, we’re going to die of starvation anyway!” But just that very night, God sent a powerful noise to the Syrian camp. The Syrians thought that the Hittites were coming to rescue Israel! They ran for their lives leaving everything behind! Their tents, their horses, their cooking pots - absolutely everything! So when the lepers went that morning to surrender to the Syrians, the Syrians were gone and the lepers had a feast of free food! God had provided deliverance for Israel once again. And God will deliver you from your impossible situation. God will take care of you!

II Kings 6:16

II Kings 6:16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. The king of Syria sent his army to Dothan to capture Elisha. But Elisha wasn’t worried in the least bit. He knew that God was in control. Elisha prayed and the whole Syrian army was struck suddenly with blindness. Elisha went out to the helpless soldiers and took the captain by the hand and said, “Follow me. I will safely lead you back to Syria.” And he did. Each Syrian soldier grabbed onto one another so that they would know which way to go. And Elisha led them all right into Samaria, the capital of Israel where they were surrounded by the Israelite army! Elisha prayed and their eyes were opened. And what a sight they saw! They were surrounded! The entire Syrian army surrendered without a single casualty! Elisha and the king of Israel fed them and sent them back home and the Syrians went in peace. God worked a miracle for Elisha and God will work for you too! Trust in God; He will never fail!

II Kings 6:8-10

II Kings 6:8-10 Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp. And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down. And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice. Syria was at war with Israel. When the king of Syria picked out a good spot to camp at, Elisha warned the king of Israel, and the army of Israel was able to avoid the Syrian army’s trap. God knew where the Syrians were and God told his prophet, Elisha. This happened so many times that the Syrian king thought that he had a spy in his army! God was watching over Israel. Finally, the king of Syria sent a detachment of soldiers and horsemen and chariots down to Dothan to capture Elisha. When Elisha’s servant, got up early in the morning to go to the bathroom, he saw that their little house was surrounded by Syrian soldiers. He ran back into the house all alarmed and woke up Elisha. But Elisha wasn’t worried! He knew God was in control! Elisha prayed for his servant and sent him back outside. The little house was still surrounded by the Syrians, but the Syrians were surrounded themselves by the angels and their fiery chariots of Almighty God! What a great lesson for us! Always remember, God is greater than any problem you might have. God is always prepared and God is always present. And He will take care of you!
