This is a blog that I have created for my 5 grandchildren. I have a daily Scripture verse or two along with comments and questions. Hope this encourages young people to read in their Bible every day and to meditate on God's Word.

John 1:14
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. We found out in John 1:1-3 that the Word existed in the beginning with God the Father. Our verse for today goes on to tell us that the Word became human flesh. When we are born as a little baby, that is when our life begins. But Jesus, the Word, existed before He was born as a baby in Bethlehem. Jesus is God and existed for all time before anything else existed. That is weird, but true. That is hard for us to understand, but it is still true. Then, when time began, Jesus made everything. Jesus is the part of God's Holy Trinity that does the work. Jesus existed in the Old Testament and when it was time for him to be born as a baby in Bethlehem, He stepped off of His throne in heaven and came down to earth and was born as a baby of Mary, His mother. It is like you, when you are going outside in the winter time. You go to the closet and put on a coat and go outside. In the same way, Jesus put on a human body and came down and lived on earth. He was God, the Word before He was born, and He became a man here on earth and lived among us humans. Jesus is God, but He knows all about us because He lived as one of us. What a wonderful Savior is Jesus our Lord!
