Mark 4:3-8

Mark 4:3-8 Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow: And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up. And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred. Jesus told a parable to explain who is and who isn’t saved. In His parable, there were four groups of people, but only one group was saved: the “good ground” people. When the seed fell by the wayside, the fowls snatched it away – no salvation. When the seed fell upon stony ground, it sprang up, but withered when the sun came up – no salvation. When the seed fell among thorns, the thorns sprang up with the new plants and the thorns choked out the little plants – no salvation. But the seed that fell on good ground, well that is a different story! It brought forth fruit – 30, 60, and 100 times! Wow! Now that’s salvation!
