I Timothy 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman
being deceived was in the transgression. When God gave the command not to eat
of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, it was given to Adam. Then
Eve was created. Eve heard of the command from her husband, Adam. So Adam was the responsible one. The serpent tempted Eve, not
Adam. God had instructed Adam and he should have listened to him, but Adam followed
his wife into sin. He knew better. Even though Eve sinned, Adam should not
have. But he did. Eve was deceived, but Adam knew full well what he was doing and went along with his wife’s disobedience. Eve was tricked, but Adam rebelled.
God holds each of us responsible for our own sin. Eve was responsible for being
deceived and Adam was responsible for his disobedience. But thank goodness for
the sacrifice of Jesus Christ! Because Jesus paid for our sins on the cross, we can all be forgiven and we can all be restored to sweet fellowship with God! What we lost in Adam, we can regain in Jesus Christ!
