I Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and
specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse
than an infidel. God has promised to take care of us, but He expects us to take
care of ourselves and our families if we can. We shouldn’t just sit around and
wait for God to send us food. Here in our verse for today God commands us to
work with our hands and meet our own needs. He will help us if we need it, but
if we are able, He expects us to work. I have heard it said that God feeds the
birds, but He expects the robins to dig up the worms that He has provided. Pray
and trust . . . and work.
