My son-in-law has a beautiful greenhouse in Springfield, Tennessee. One of his cousins (who is in the greenhouse business too) gave him some sample bulbs that he sells. These amaryllis bulbs are mounted on a tiny wire base and coated with a red sealer, and then sprinkled with Christmas glitter. They grow on your windowsill in the drab wintertime to brighten up your kitchen. I am amazed that these huge flowers on a huge stem grow out of such tiny little bulbs with nothing else needed! No water; no soil; nothing! It’s all on the inside! Hey, how often do we tell our children, “It isn’t how talented or pretty you are on the outside; it’s how beautiful you are on the inside.” So true. Jesus reminded the people in Matthew 15:10&11, “… Hear, and understand: Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.” Jesus went on to say in verse 18, “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.” If you are wicked on the inside, you will spew out evil words. But if you are pure within, you will send forth beauty like my amaryllis bulb. Hey, do you have Jesus in your heart? Or do you have evil lurking within your heart? Only you know. And today would be a good day to let Jesus clean you up on the inside. Message me and we can talk.
