My dear wife was downsizing her cookie cutter collection, and she gave me several cookie cutters to take to the thrift store. But as I was gathering them up, I noticed the Easter Bunny cutter, and it brought back memories from long ago. That cookie cutter got me banned from the Christmas cookie baking celebration. Let me explain: my wife has a high standard for Christmas cookies. Oh, she doesn’t care if the little children make a mess decorating the sugar cookies, but she does care if those who should know better (that would be me) do not take the Christmas cookie baking seriously. And when I cut out an Easter Bunny, my reckless action was over the top. Me and my bunny cookie cutter were banned from the party. Now, I’m not saying that my bunny cookie was not a calculated crime. I did not like the cookie baking anyway, and just might have been looking for a way out. I’m just sayin’. Hey, are you familiar with trouble? Job was. He said in Job 5:7, “Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.” And if anyone knew about trouble it was Job! But as Job learned, we can flee to the Lord in our time of trouble! We can cry out to our heavenly Father for relief. And never forget, God hears and answers prayer. You can go to the dear Lord with little problems, like cookie cutter bans, or you can go to the dear Lord with big problems. And God can handle them all. God handles the hard as easy as the easy. Yes, He does.
