Missing Blanks

I have a small wood lathe that was given to me by a former student, and I have made some custom pens for Christmas.  I had two sets turned and finished waiting to be assembled.  But I misplaced them.  I looked everywhere for them.  I looked in the garage, I looked in the basement, I looked in my bedroom … nothing!  I started looking in places that I knew within reason they would not be there.  I looked a second and a third time.  I retraced my steps, as best I could remember.  I looked for two days and came up with nothing!  But I remembered laying them on the dryer and one of them rolled off.  So, I got a yardstick and swept under the dryer.  I found a metal shirt hanger and lots of lint, but no pen blanks.  Then I thought, they could have rolled off into the trash can beside the dryer.  And when I looked inside the trash can, I found one!  I pulled out the lint bunnies along with the used dryer sheets and found all four pen blanks!  I felt like the woman in the parable told by Jesus in Luke 15:8&9, “Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it? And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.”  Hey, I didn’t call all of my friends, but I did tell all of my facebook friends!  And what is the point of Jesus’ parable?  There is rejoicing in heaven a sinner that repents.  Jesus didn’t say there was rejoicing about church attendance, or rejoicing about small groups, or rejoicing about gospel singing.  Jesus said that there was rejoicing in heaven over one sinner that repents!  Hey, evangelism is important!  At least Jesus said that it was.  So, let’s look for sinners like I was looking for my pen parts … let’s look diligently!
