Exodus 15:22-24

Exodus 15:22-24 So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water. And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah. And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink? Israel often forgot God’s provision. God took care of them in the past and God would take care of them in the future. But still they forgot. When Israel got to Marah, they were thirsty. And there was water to drink. But as they began to drink, they gagged. The water was bitter! But instead of trusting God and Moses, the people complained. So God showed Moses the answer to the bitter waters. God showed Moses a certain tree. Moses cut down the tree and put it into the waters and the waters were made sweet! I don’t know what the bitterness was in the water, nor how the tree solved the problem, but God knew what He was doing. God always knows what is best. The lesson for today: don’t complain; trust God; He knows what He is doing in your life.
