This is a blog that I have created for my 5 grandchildren. I have a daily Scripture verse or two along with comments and questions. Hope this encourages young people to read in their Bible every day and to meditate on God's Word.

John 5:24
John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Yesterday we talked about the religious leaders who did not believe that Jesus was the Son of God. They did not accept that Jesus was God. But Jesus was offering them the gift of eternal life. What do you have to do to get a birthday gift? Do you have to work for it? Do you have to earn it? Well, I suppose you do have to grow a year older. But You just get your birthday gift, don't you? Your parents have it all wrapped up there for you. They bought it. They got it ready and you don't have to do anything for it. So you just sit there looking at it. But you have to receive it. You have to go over and pick it up and tear into the wrapping paper and open it up. God's gift of eternal life is just the same. If you believe the words of Jesus and believe on God the Father Who sent Jesus, you accept God's gift of eternal life. That is all that you have to do! In one moment, you move from being a sinner who is guilty before God, to a saved person secure in God's forever family because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. That is the wonderful new birth in Christ!
