John 7:16,17

John 7:16,17 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. The word doctrine means the Bible teachings. Jesus was teaching his disciples the way to heaven. The Old Testament told of how that the Messiah would be coming someday. The New Testament told that the Messiah had come - and that Messiah was Jesus. Jesus is the only way to heaven. Jesus was explaining that the Old Testament Scriptures told of Him. He reminded everyone that if they read the Old Testament, they would understand all about the coming Messiah. And Jesus was the fulfillment of those Old Testament prophecies and Jesus is the only way to heaven.
