Matthew 26:6,7

Matthew 26:6,7 Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat. In the Book of John, this woman is identified as Mary Magdalene, a woman whom Jesus saved out of a terrible life. Because Jesus had done so much for her, she wanted to do something special for Jesus. So she took a very expensive perfume and poured it upon Jesus. But as the fragrance filled the room, some of the disciples were aggravated. “Why did this woman make such a waste?” they reasoned. “Why didn’t she sell her perfume and give the money to the poor?” But Jesus countered, “Leave her alone. She has done a great thing,” He said. Jesus knew that poor people would always be around. But He would not. Jesus knew that He would soon be crucified and resurrected go back to heaven. Jesus knew that Mary was grateful, and Jesus knew her heart. And Jesus knows our hearts too! But what does Jesus see in our hearts? Does He see love like Mary had or does He see jealousy as the disciples had? I want to be more like this grateful woman, don’t you?
