I Chronicles 13:5,7,9,10

I Chronicles 13:5,7,9,10 So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering of Hemath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjathjearim. And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart. And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled. And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God. King David brought the Ark of the Covenant back to Israel after the Philistines had stolen it in battle when King Saul was killed. But when Uzza put his hand out to steady the Ark, God killed him. David thought that God was too harsh to kill Uzza. After all, Uzza was only trying to help, David reasoned. But David was wrong and Uzza was wrong - and dead! God intended for the Ark to be carried by the priests, not hauled around on a cart with a driver. Uzza shouldn’t have been near the Ark. David knew better. Both were at fault. When we plan to do God’s work, we had better do it God’s way. David and Uzza were doing what they thought was best, not what God had said was the way to do it. But they were wrong! After all, God is in charge!
