II Kings 12:1,2

II Kings 12:1,2 In the seventh year of Jehu Jehoash began to reign; and forty years reigned he in Jerusalem ... And Jehoash did that which was right in the sight of the LORD all his days wherein Jehoiada the priest instructed him. While Jehoash was another name for Joash, who began to reign when he was only seven years old. Obviously, a seven-year-old king needed counselors who did all of the work for him. But when he grew up, he continued in the good character that Jehoiada had trained into his heart. Good people usually are trained by good parents, or in Joash’s case, by good guardians. Bad beginnings can be corrected, but it is hard. And of course, good people can go bad. So what am I saying? Well, if you have been trained early in the right way, you will have a better chance of ending up right. But if you are not trained early in the right way, you will have difficulty in doing right later in life. Godly parents are a blessing. Always thank the good Lord for your godly parents!
