A few weeks ago, our pastor mentioned the phrase, “There was no one quite like him.” In the Bible, there was no one quite like Saul. He was head and shoulders above everyone else. His bearing was regal. He just looked like a king. And no one was quite like Job. Job loved God and hated evil with a fervor that was unmatched. When Job’s ten children had a party, Job offered sacrifices to God just in case his children had thought something evil about God while they were partying. And no one was quite like Daniel in his determination to serve God. Daniel 1:8, “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank … .“ Daniel decided early that he would put God first in his life. And when Daniel was an old man, he remained faithful to the Lord. Even when Daniel knew that the crooked decree was made against praying, he went to his room, opened his window toward God’s Temple in Jerusalem, and prayed to the Lord above. Hey, you are unique. You have been created by God to serve Him like no one else can. Snowflakes are unique. Fingerprints are unique. And no one is quite like you! No one has the exact skillsets that you have. So, will you commit to serve the Lord in your unique way? Can the Lord count on you? Think about it.
