As I tied my shoes early this morning, I thought of my mother and father who taught me to tie my shoes seventy plus years ago. I can’t even remember the event, but I know it happened, because a five-year-old doesn’t learn those things on his own. And how to ride a two-wheeler. And how to aim a BB gun. And how to throw a football spiral. And how to air-pump on a swing. And how to drive a car. And how to respect a lady. And how to take your hat off inside and how to take your hat off when you say grace before your meal. Paul said in Ephesians 6:4, “And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” Fathers have a great responsibility, and sons have a great responsibility, because soon, sons become fathers. Think about it.
