Flower or Weed?

Last year, I found a tiny little flower at the hardware store that I bought for my back deck garden.  It was a pale purple color and so tiny.  It gave me pleasure.  Saturday, I was pleased to see it popping up to life once again.  But then Sunday, I noticed a faint violet hue in the neighbor’s yard.  Upon closer inspection, Mr. Bill had hundreds of my tiny little flowers popping up all over his yard!  But in Bill’s yard they were called weeds!  Someone at Ace Hardware had sold me weeds, and I had paid for them!  I have heard it said that a weed is just a flower out of place.  Now I understand the meaning of that saying.  Hey, do you feel out of place?  Are you not where the dear Lord wants you to be?  When you pray or when you hear preaching on the car radio, does the Holy Spirit poke your heart?  Today would be a good day to get back into fellowship with the Lord and to get back to where you know that you should be.  Hosea 6:1-3, “Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.”  Just as the earth is refreshed by a gentle rain, the dear Lord will refresh your soul when you return unto Him.  Don’t be a weed – a flower out of place.  Bloom and give pleasure to the Lord.
