Lost and Found

Friday, I was on the interstate highway and topped the hill near Costco when I came upon a sudden traffic jam.  And because I came upon it suddenly, I had to lock down the brakes to avoid an accident.  Everything on the seat slid off and onto the floor.  But when I stopped to retrieve my wallet, cell phone and pocketknife, there were two pocketknives on the floor!  I had lost a knife 2 months ago and had bought a replacement.  Evidently, the sharp braking had dislodged my old knife from its hiding place, and there they both were!  Although I had a close call, something good had come out of it: I found my missing pocketknife!  Joseph in the Bible had a train-wreck-of-a-life too.  Joseph was sold as a slave by his own brothers, falsely accused of attempted rape by his master’s wife, and thrown into prison.  But God used his devastating experiences to mold Joseph’s character and connect him with people who could later link him with the Pharaoh of Egypt!  Joseph told his brothers in Genesis 50:20, “… ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.”  God had a plan all laid out for Joseph’s life.  Hey, God has a plan for your life too!  God will take your train-wreck-of-a-life and make it into a glorious picture of His grace!  Just trust the dear Lord and be faithful.  You’ll see.
