Genesis 2:18,21-24

Genesis 2:18,21-24 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. God knew that Adam needed a wife. And God was the only One Who could do anything about it. But since God had finished His creation on day six, He used one of Adam’s ribs to make Eve. God didn’t use a tarsal bone from the foot, so that the man would step all over the woman, nor did God use part of the skull bone so that the woman would rule over the man. But God used a rib from near the man’s heart, so that the man would love the woman that God had made for him. And once a man marries a woman, they are no longer two people in the sight of God. They are together as one. Mr. Mrs. Adam! And God made them to live together as husband and wife for the rest of their lives. God intends for us to stay married for life. Just like Adam and Eve became one flesh, when we are married, we become one before God. Forever.
