Matthew 4:1-4

Matthew 4:1-4 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. When Jesus began his public ministry, Satan tempted Him. It is interesting that Satan knew to tempt Jesus after He had fasted for a long time. Satan is clever and knows just when we are the weakest. He knows exactly how to tempt us and when to do it. But Satan failed in his temptation of Jesus. Three times Satan tried and three times Jesus quoted Scripture verses. And that is a good plan for us today. In order to defeat Satan we must know the Scripture and then we must use the Scripture. We must trust God and use His words. Jesus defeated Satan and we can defeat Satan too!
