Matthew 5:4

Matthew 5:4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Someone who is mourning is going to a funeral. A friend has died and they are sad. Jesus was telling the people that we should be sad for our sin and sad that people don’t care more about God. Little children grow up in a family where their father is a drunk and beats them when he is out of control from alcohol. Others grow up where drugs and thugs are considered normal. Children should not have to live like that. And Jesus calls us blessed if we are sad for these sad situations. We should care and do something about it. Just like someone cares and goes to a funeral, we should care enough to help change lives around us. And if we care and get involved in God’s plan, what does Jesus say? We will be blessed and we will be comforted.
