Matthew 6:26-30

Matthew 6:26-30 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Often we worry about the future. We wonder what is going to happen. We worry that a loved one will pass away in death. We worry about what others think about us. The problem is that we can’t do anything about the future. We can only make the right choices now. So what if you are short!? If you worry and worry about it, can you make yourself grow taller? Of course not!. Jesus asked a silly question in our verse for today. Do birds worry? Do birds have barns that they put all of their food in for the winter? Of course not! They just trust their heavenly Father that He will supply their food for tomorrow. Jesus went on to say that the flowers didn’t worry about what to wear. God gave them their beautiful petals. They had no need of dresses or shirts or pants. God took care of them. And if God takes care of the flowers and the birds, God will take care of you! Don’t ever forget it: God loves you and will take care of you.
