Leviticus 14:2,20 This shall be the law of the leper in
the day of his cleansing: He shall be brought unto the priest: And the priest
shall offer the burnt offering and the meat offering upon the altar: and the
priest shall make an atonement for him, and he shall be clean. This chapter and
the previous explain what the priest was to do when a leper was healed of his
disease. There was a complete ceremony that the priest and the leper had to
complete to prove to everyone that he had in fact been completely healed of his
leprosy. The problem is, leprosy is incurable. It is terminal. no one ever got
over the disease of leprosy. That is until Jesus healed the ten lepers in Luke
17. And when Jesus healed them, he said, “Go and show yourselves to the
priests.” Can you imagine what the priest said when the lepers came to him?! No
priest had ever performed the ceremony in Leviticus 13 and 14! I am sure that
he had to go back and read up on what to do. What a testimony the healing was
to the priest! And God put the ceremony there in Leviticus 1400 years before
Jesus just for when Jesus would heal a leper! What an amazing prophecy! What an
amazing God!
This is a blog that I have created for my 5 grandchildren. I have a daily Scripture verse or two along with comments and questions. Hope this encourages young people to read in their Bible every day and to meditate on God's Word.

Leviticus 11:45-47
Leviticus 11:45-47
For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your
God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy. This is the law of the beasts,
and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of
every creature that creepeth upon the earth: To make a difference between the
unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast
that may not be eaten. God was serious about how the Children of Israel
were to live. They were examples to the people in the land where they had come.
God didn’t want them to be like those heathen people; God expected them to be
different. God gave them certain things to eat and certain other things not to
eat. God made these rules so that the people would not get diseases associated
with unclean animals. God knew what was healthy to eat and what was not healthy
to eat. And God passed these rules down thru Moses to the Children of Israel.

Leviticus 10:8-10
Leviticus 10:8-10
And the LORD spake unto Aaron, saying, Do not drink wine nor strong drink,
thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the
congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your
generations: And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and
between unclean and clean; God expects His people to be different. He
expects His people to be examples for others. This is not legalism – salvation
by works. This is just holy living. When the priests were in the Tabernacle
serving the Lord, they were not to drink wine nor strong drink. And God said
that if they were careless, they would die. That’s pretty serious. And God
expects us to be serious about His work and serious about our testimony before
others.
