Leviticus 14:2,20 This shall be the law of the leper in
the day of his cleansing: He shall be brought unto the priest: And the priest
shall offer the burnt offering and the meat offering upon the altar: and the
priest shall make an atonement for him, and he shall be clean. This chapter and
the previous explain what the priest was to do when a leper was healed of his
disease. There was a complete ceremony that the priest and the leper had to
complete to prove to everyone that he had in fact been completely healed of his
leprosy. The problem is, leprosy is incurable. It is terminal. no one ever got
over the disease of leprosy. That is until Jesus healed the ten lepers in Luke
17. And when Jesus healed them, he said, “Go and show yourselves to the
priests.” Can you imagine what the priest said when the lepers came to him?! No
priest had ever performed the ceremony in Leviticus 13 and 14! I am sure that
he had to go back and read up on what to do. What a testimony the healing was
to the priest! And God put the ceremony there in Leviticus 1400 years before
Jesus just for when Jesus would heal a leper! What an amazing prophecy! What an
amazing God!
