A man was looking for advice. He was walking down a street and came to two doors. One said, Psychoanalyst and the other said Psychologist. He counted the letters and opened the second door. Once inside, he found two more doors. One was labeled, $200,000 or more and the other door was labeled, $200,000 or less. So, he walked through the second door. Again, he found two doors. One door had a sign that read, PhD and the other door sign read, Family Counselor. So, he opened the second door … and found himself back on the same street. Silly story, but often that’s what advice is like: it’s easy to get advice, but it’s hard to get good advice. When you go to a counselor, often it takes several sessions for you to explain what has happened in your life that has brought you to the counseling office. But if you bring your needs to Jesus, He already knows all about you and all about your needs. You don’t have to tell Jesus anything that He doesn’t already know! And Jesus knows your past, present, and future, so He can give you perfect advice because He has complete knowledge. The Lord God said in Isaiah 46:10, “Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.” You can put your faith in God! He can direct your path because only the good Lord knows you … past, present, and future.
