I am trying to save some money by lowering my thermostat. It’s not really the money, it’s the challenge. And at night, I turn the thermostat down to 63˚ because I sleep better if the room is cold. I pile on 2 quilts with a third one folded over my cold feet. But, as an old man, I turn over several times in the night. I have a memory foam mattress, and it is comfortable, but I just have to turn over … sort of like a pancake needs flippin’. But when I turn over, my pajamas don’t like to turn with me. They get all twisted up (and uncomfortable). I have long flannel sleep pants with a long-sleeved cotton t-shirt. But I also have polyester (moisture-wicking) long sleeved shirts with polyester shorts that are slick and move with me. So here is my dilemma: stay warm and cozy or comfortable as I turn?! What would you choose? I picked warm and toasty. And I’ll save the moisture-wicking slickies for those hot summer nights. Hey, you have choices that you make each day. So, choose widely … and try to choose the Lord’s way! Psalm 37:23-25, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.” And I’ll say, “Amen!” to that.
