Benefits

When I was in college, I bought a whole lie insurance policy from Briggs K. who was a fellow student at Tennessee Temple College.  I really can’t remember why I did, but it was called a “wealth-building” plan, so I must have thought that it would bring me wealth.  I cashed it in years later to pay the doctor/hospital bills for my daughter’s delivery.  Money well-spent, I might add.  As my wife and I were thinking about the decision of cashing it in, we read in the policy of how and why the policy would pay out its benefits.  I would receive ½ of the cash value if I lost an arm or a leg.  Not bad.  I would receive ½ value if I lost an eye or hearing in one ear.  If I lost an arm and a leg, I would receive full policy value.  Both eyes or both ears would pay full value.  We chuckled as we considered which loss would be the least inconvenient while paying the most money.  Hey, trusting in God for the eternal home of my soul has tremendous benefits too!  Psalm 103:1&2, “Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:”  And David goes on to list many of God’s wonderful benefits.  Hey, take a few minutes to read Psalm 103 this morning and thank the dear Lord for all of the benefits that He gives to you.  God is good!
