My brother-in-law gave me a headlamp several years ago (thank you, Kirk). It has become increasingly important as my eyes grow dimmer. It has a powerful LED bulb with an adjustable feature that points the light exactly where I need it. Another great feature is the USB recharging. I plug it in at night, and the next day, it is ready to go. So, yesterday, I had disconnected the charging cord after an overnight charge. But the rubber USB cover was stiff and didn’t want to go back into place. So, I squeezed the light between my thumb and finger to remold the rubber cover. But when I did, my finger on the opposite side activated a hidden push button switch that powered a second light bulb that I had never seen before! My headlamp, evidently, had two lights and two switches! My headlamp was twice as powerful as I had thought! Hey, in the spiritual world, we have access to more power than we could imagine if we but access the Holy Spirit. The disciples were fearful of losing Jesus. They trembled at the thought of Jesus going back to heaven. But Jesus said in John 16:7, “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.” Jesus could only be at one place at a time. If Jesus was in Jerusalem, He couldn’t be in Capernaum. Not so with the Holy Spirit! He can be with me here in Ringgold and simultaneously, he can be with you wherever you are. Like my headlamp, what a powerful difference! Hey, have you accessed the power of the Holy Spirit? I hope you have. And if you haven’t, now would be a good time to trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and experience the indwelling of the Holy Spirit! What comfort and what power!
