Acts 17:22,23,30

Acts 17:22,23,30 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: The men in Athens loved to discuss things. But they also loved to argue. Some people like to learn things, but some people just like to argue. They don’t want to find a way to agree with you, they want to find a way to disagree with you. The men of Athens had many, many gods. They had so many gods that they even had an idol to the Unknown god, just in case they had left one god out. But Paul took the opportunity to declare to them about the God whom they did not know. Paul told them that up until that day, they hadn’t known about this Unknown God. But now Paul was telling them about God. So now He was not the Unknown God. Now they knew about Him. Once you know the truth, then you are responsible. You are more responsible than the boys on your baseball team because you know about God. You are more responsible than the girls on your gymnastic team because you know about God. Now you know! So now you must obey God and be a witness for Him.
