I John 3:8,9

I John 3:8,9 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. Our verses are not saying that we cannot sin, they are saying that if we are truly Christians, then we cannot continue to live in sin. The Holy Spirit of God convicts us of our sin. That means that we feel bad every time that we sin. it is as is the Holy Spirit of God has a little pin and every time we sin, He pricks our heart and we just know that we are doing bad things. And the second verse says that we cannot commit sin because his seed is in us. That is a picture of God who is dwelling with-in us. In the spring, an apple tree puts out apple flowers that are pollinated by bees which grow into apples. And what is on the inside of the apple fruit? Peach seeds. NOT! Apple trees bear apples which have apple seeds inside of them because they are apple trees! We are Christians and have the Holy Spirit of God inside of us and we cannot be happy sinning. As born-again Christians, God’s seed is inside of us. We are His and are Christians and are not happy when we sin. We feel bad and wont God to clean our hearts so that we can have sweet closeness with Him. We love God and He loves us and sin has no place in this family of God. If we sin, let’s ask forgiveness right away.
