October 1971

Grace O’Dell Ostman, a dear friend from college, sent Kathy several old pictures from our wedding in 1971.  What wonderful memories!  Several friends came all the way from Chattanooga to witness the wonderful occasion, and the pictures are snapshots of that history.  I was cutting up giving my bride-to-be rabbit ears.  That joke never gets old, although I do!  My Aunt Ilene brought our wedding cake all the way from Maryland and decorated it there in Detroit.  Don’t you just love the old paneling at Ambassador Baptist Church in Royal Oak, Michigan?  Pastor Richards officiated, and he is still living in Michigan.  Proverbs 17:17, “A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.”  And Proverbs 18:24, “A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.”  And who is that brother that will never leave or forsake you?  The Lord Jesus Christ demonstrated His love on Calvary that we celebrated this past weekend.  Good Friday is the proof of His love and Easter Sunday is the proof of His power.  What a wonderful Savior!
