Read John 17:15  You might have a Bible that has the words of Jesus printed in red letters.  All of this chapter is in red letters, which means that these were the exact words of Jesus.  He spoke these words while He was praying in the Garden of Gethsemane just the night before He was crucified on the cross.  Here in this verse Jesus prayed an interesting prayer. He did NOT pray that we, His followers, would be taken out of this world and immediately taken to heaven.  He DID pray that we would be protected while we live here on earth.  In this verse, what did Jesus pray that we would be protected from?  Isn't it wonderful that Jesus prayed for us!  Is there someone that you are praying especially for today?  What special need do they have?  I am so glad that Jesus cares about us and our needs.
