II Corinthians 10:3-5

II Corinthians 10:3-5 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; Every day of our lives we are in a spiritual battle. God is cheering for us and Satan is fighting against us. Our own fleshly desires and laziness are on Satan’s side and they are trying to battle against the good things that we might want to do. And then the world is trying to defeat us too. The world doesn’t like Christians because Christians do right and are an embarrassment to them. We make sinners look bad. And so it seems that everyone is against us. Everyone but God. He is with us! God is fighting for us in our spiritual battle. And with God on our side, we will win. That is, if we don’t give the enemy a way to sneak in behind God’s back. That is because we ourselves are our own worst enemies. We let Satan, the flesh, and the world slip in and control our lives. God is fighting for us and we let the enemy in the back way. So our only way to win is to let God do the fighting and not to let Satan or his allies to sneak into our defenses. We need to put on the armor of God and to stand with God against Satan. God will fight for us! We will win if we fight with God.
